The Sky as a Clock

Time, Written in the Heavens Your day is the Earth spinning once; your month is the Moon’s phases; your year is one lap around the Sun. The festival you celebrate, the leap day in February, even the Moon you glimpse at lunchtime — all are this clockwork sky, the same one ancient sky-watchers read so carefully that they built calendars without ever knowing the Earth moves.
